🇬🇧 LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND

We all know that, although today we may be more or less surrounded by loved ones, one day we will die alone.
The strangers who appear in this series may never know that they are part of this band—a band to which we all belong simply by being human. We may be very different, but we are united by what is essential: the desire to be loved, to do something meaningful, to be remembered, and to live a life as true as possible to who we are.

I don’t know these people, but they became important to me the moment I crossed paths with them through my camera. In these images, they merge with their surroundings, inhabit the space, and transform it. 

Photography, unlike painting, does not build from scratch, but it does define: each frame is a decision that determines what enters and what remains outside the world we create. Photographing always carries an element of synchronicity, of surprise, of magic. And for me, it serves as a reminder that even within the chaos of contemporary life, we can pause and choose what to frame, knowing that the unexpected always finds a way to appear.

🇪🇸 LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND

Todos sabemos que, aunque hoy estemos en mayor o menor medida rodeados de personas queridas, algún día moriremos solos. Los desconocidos que aparecen en esta serie quizás nunca sepan que forman parte de esta banda, una banda a la que todos pertenecemos simplemente por ser humanos. Podemos ser muy distintos, pero nos une lo esencial: el deseo de ser amados, de hacer algo significativo, de ser recordados y de vivir una vida lo más fiel posible a quienes somos. 

No conozco a estas personas, pero se volvieron importantes para mí en el momento en que me crucé con ellas a través de mi cámara. En estas imágenes se funden con el entorno, habitan el espacio y lo transforman. 

La fotografía, a diferencia de la pintura, no construye desde cero, pero sí delimita: cada encuadre es una decisión que define qué queda dentro y fuera del mundo que creamos. Fotografiar siempre trae consigo algo de sincronicidad, de sorpresa, de magia. Y para mí esto es un recordatorio de que aún en el caos de la vida contemporánea, podemos deternos y elegir qué encuadrar, ya que siempre hay espacio para que ocurra lo inesperado.
